Privacy and notifications
Settings → Privacy and Notifications are where alert and visibility preferences will live. Some controls are still placeholders; this page says honestly what works today.
What you'll need
- An open Glitr session.
- For browser alerts: permission to show notifications when your browser asks.
What works today
- Delivery ticks in the thread show sent / delivered / read honesty — Send and receive.
- Dan-EL stays on-device — In-app assistant.
- Encryption seals data at rest on this device and encrypts payloads for contacts — What Glitr is.
- Legal privacy language: Terms and privacy.
Notifications
- Open Settings → Notifications.
- If the panel offers alert toggles, turn them on or off.
- If you see a Coming soon note, the preference UI is not finished yet — the app may still use the system / browser default for alerts.
On the web, allow notifications when the browser prompt appears if you want alerts while Glitr is in the background.
Privacy
- Open Settings → Privacy.
- Review any available toggles (for example future read-receipt visibility).
- If the panel is a placeholder, no extra switches are active yet — delivery ticks still work as documented under Send and receive.
Coming soon
Guided search may label some Privacy and Notifications rows Coming soon. You can still open the panels from Settings; they will fill in as preferences ship.
What you should see
- Settings lists Privacy and Notifications as separate rows.
- Placeholder panels explain that more controls are on the way.
If something goes wrong
- No browser notification prompt: check the site permission in your browser settings for glitr.io.
- More help: Troubleshooting.
