Drive and Office

Glitr Drive is a mailbox-backed vault for documents and files. Personal, contact, and group scopes keep work next to the people it belongs to.

What you'll need

  • An open Glitr session.
  • Optional: attached remotes if you want Drive changes backed up off this device — Git remotes.

Open Drive

  1. Tap Drive in the navigation.
  2. Use the sidebar (or scope list) for My Drive, per-contact vaults, group vaults, and Trash.
  3. Check the storage meter for used space.

Create a document

  1. Open My Drive (personal scope).
  2. Open Apps (or New).
  3. Create Word, Sheet, Slides, Notes, or Text.

You can also open Puter mini-apps (Calendar, Tasks, Photo Studio, Vector Studio) from the same menu — see Puter apps.

Upload files

  1. Open the vault where the file should live.
  2. Drag files onto the Drive grid, or use the import / upload control.
  3. Wait for the upload to finish. The file appears in the current vault.

Organize

  1. Select a file or folder.
  2. Use the toolbar or context menu to Rename, Move, or create a New folder.
  3. Use Drive Search to find files recursively in the current vault — see Search.
  1. Open Drive.
  2. Tap the search field.
  3. Type a file name. Results stay within the current vault unless the UI says otherwise.

Send to chat

  1. Open a document in Drive.
  2. Tap Send to chat.
  3. Pick a contact or group. They receive it as a chat attachment.

See also Send and receive for attachments that start in chat.

Trash and restore

  1. Delete a file — it moves to Trash.
  2. Open the Trash scope.
  3. Restore when you need it back, or delete permanently if offered.

Local only

  1. Find the Local only checkbox on the Drive scope or sync controls.
  2. Turn it on to keep Drive changes on this device without pushing that vault to remotes.
  3. Turn it off when you want mailbox sync again (requires attached remotes).

Conflicts

If the same file changed on two devices before sync finished, Drive may show a conflict.

  1. Open the file that shows a conflict marker.
  2. Follow the on-screen choice (keep this version, keep the other, or keep both if offered).
  3. Sync again after you resolve it — Settings → Sync.

Puter apps

From Drive → Apps, open Puter mini-apps such as Calendar, Tasks, Photo Studio, or Vector Studio. They run in the Drive context on this device.

Office apps

Word, Sheet, Slides, and Notes are the built-in Office editors. Create them under Create a document.

What you should see

  • New files appear in the grid for the current scope.
  • Trash lists deleted items until you restore or purge them.
  • Storage meter updates after large uploads.

If something goes wrong

  • Upload fails: check free space and sync — Troubleshooting.
  • Missing file after another device edit: pull/sync, then check Trash.
  • Conflict loop: resolve under Conflicts, then sync once.

Next steps

For the curious

Drive vaults ride the same mailbox remotes as chat history when Sync is attached. Local-only scopes skip that push path on purpose. Architecture notes live under Technical → Office.
