What you'll need
- An open Glitr session.
- For Word / Sheet / Slides / Notes / Text: Drive personal scope is used when you create a blank file — see Drive.
Open Office
- Tap Office in the navigation.
- Pick an app tile from the launcher grid.
- Use Back to Office (or the Office nav item) to return to the launcher.

| App | What it does | Where data lives |
|---|---|---|
| Word, Spreadsheet, Slides, Notes, Text | Built-in document editors | Files in your Drive vault |
| Calendar | Events, views, invites | Encrypted mailbox calendar (not a Drive file) |
| Tasks | Lists, due dates, subtasks | Encrypted mailbox tasks |

Calendar
- Open Office → Calendar.
- Switch Month, Week, Day, or Agenda.
- Tap New (or a time slot) to create an event. Set title, time, all-day, location, notes, recurrence (RRULE), and reminder minutes.
- Use the calendars sidebar to show/hide or add color-coded calendars.
- Paste ICS under Import ICS, or export from the Share tab.
Share an invite
- Open an event → Share.
- Pick a contact. They receive a calendar invite (ICS) in chat.
Add from chat
When someone sends a .ics or text/calendar attachment:
- Open the chat bubble.
- Tap Add to calendar.
- Office opens Calendar and imports the invite into your mailbox calendar.
Reminders fire as device notifications while Glitr is open. There is no separate push server for calendar alerts yet.
Tasks
- Open Office → Tasks.
- Pick or create a list in the sidebar.
- Add tasks, set priority, due date, and subtasks.
- Toggle Show completed when you need finished items.
Tasks with a due date can appear alongside calendar events in planning views.
Documents from Office
Word, Spreadsheet, Slides, Notes, and Text tiles create a blank file under Drive (for example Office/Untitled.docx) and open the built-in editor. Saving writes back to Drive. Full vault how-tos: Drive.
You can also create those document types from Drive → Apps.
Creative Puter apps
Photo Studio and Vector Studio remain MIT Puter embeds. Open them from the Office launcher or from Drive → Apps. They are not mailbox GraphQL collections; storage goes through the Drive Puter bridge.
Calendar and Tasks used to be Puter iframes; they are now native Glitr apps.
What you should see
- Office appears next to Drive in the nav.
- Calendar and Tasks keep events/lists after reload (mailbox-backed).
- ICS invites in chat show an Add to calendar card.
If something goes wrong
- Office asks you to connect a mailbox: finish login / connect first.
- Import fails: confirm the paste starts with
BEGIN:VCALENDAR. - Reminder did not fire: keep Glitr open; reminders only run in-session.
Next steps
For the curious
Calendar and tasks use sealed messaging schema collections (v13+). Document editors still store OOXML / notes bytes as Drive files. Architecture: Technical: Drive and Office.
