Glitr’s mailbox is git. This experience is git without the messenger: init, files, status, clone, commit, branch, log, diff, fetch, pull, push. On the web, the working copy lives in origin-private browser storage.

Clone needs a CORS proxy, same constraint as connecting a mailbox in the browser. Desktop does not.
